HONOLULU, Aug. 13, 2026 – The Maui Soil & Water Conservation Districts, together with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, invites the public to attend a Local Working Group meeting, Aug. 26 at 5:30 p.m., at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College Cooperative Extension Services Building.

About the Event

We encourage agricultural leaders, farmers, ranchers, forest landowners and other conservation/environmental organizations to connect with agency representatives and share their views about Maui’s natural resource conditions and conservation needs. Participants’ assistance will help identify key concerns and inform NRCS’s local conservation program development and funding decisions.

Purpose of Local Working Group

Local Working Groups advise NRCS, ensuring that conservation programs are tailored to our islands’ unique needs. Together, our stakeholders collaborate to strengthen conservation efforts throughout the county.
