Project Description
The Clear Branch Dam Remedial Project proposes to remediate Clear Branch Dam to continue to provide a clean, dependable water supply for the Upper Hood River Valley.
NEPA Analysis
A Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement was published in the Federal Register on September 19, 2022. Members of the public were invited to attend the public scoping meeting on October 4, 2022. A revised NOI was published on June 18, 2025 and a supplementary scoping meeting was held on July 9, 2025 to provide input to help guide planning efforts. Following the public scoping period, project partners use input received to prepare a Draft Watershed Plan-Environmental Impact Statement (Plan-EIS).
Current Status
This project is in planning. A Draft-Environmental Impact Statement is expected in Fall 2026.
