Project Summary
The Klamath-Cascade Headwaters Farm, Fish, and Wildlife RCPP project is located within the Western Waters Critical Conservation Area (CCA), and addresses all three Priority Resource Concerns of the CCA (insufficient water and drought, water quality degradation, and inadequate habitat for endangered coho salmon) in the tributary watersheds of two of California’s most important rivers, the Klamath River and Sacramento River. Siskiyou Land Trust (SLT) will first conduct outreach to farmers and ranchers in the Scott River, Shasta River, Bogus Creek and Upper Sacramento River watersheds, Siskiyou County, California, to identify potential willing sellers of Agriculture Land Easements (ALE) on privately owned farmland and rangeland to benefit water, soil and endangered fish recovery in the Mid-Klamath and Upper Sacramento Basins.
