San Carlos Apache Tribe Flooding EWP
Project Description
This project consists of flood mitigation work in Gilson Wash, upstream and through San Carlos AZ. The severe flooding in 2025 threatened damage to the following transportation infrastructure: BIA Route 6 roadway, two low water crossings that connect the community of San Carlos, and the San Carlos Bridge. Measures undertaken by the San Carlos Apache Tribe to address these risks include sediment and debris removal and streambank stabilization (primarily roller-compacted concrete).
