Project Description
The Main Canal Irrigation Deliveries Improvement Project in La Paz County, Arizona covers 43,645 acres and mostly surrounds (does not include) the Town of Parker. The purpose of the project is agricultural water management; namely, to increase the conveyance efficiency in the irrigation water delivery system to improve agricultural production. The need for the project is to reduce conveyance losses along the irrigation canals with the highest seepage rates and operational spills. The alternatives considered as solutions to these issues will consist of a variety of structural measures, including canal lining, replacing canals with buried conduit, and regulating reservoirs.
