(PALMER, ALASKA) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Alaska is hosting a State Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) meeting on Wednesday August 19, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting will offer options for in-person attendance at the NRCS State Office, located at 800 E Palmer Wasilla Hwy in Palmer, as well as virtual participation via Microsoft Teams. This STAC meeting will gather recommendations from Committee members about critical soil and water resource concerns and eligible land uses for the new Regenerative Pilot Program. Input will also be gathered for additional regenerative conservation practices that NRCS may consider adding to the program.

State Technical Advisory Committees serve in an advisory capacity to NRCS and other USDA agencies on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of Farm Bill legislation. Committees are intended to include members from a wide variety of natural resource and agricultural interests.

Chaired by the NRCS State Conservationist, the committee is comprised of representatives from Federal and State natural resource agencies, Alaska Native Tribes, agricultural and environmental organizations, and agricultural producers.
