Town of Miami Flooding EWP

Project Description

This project consists of flood mitigation work in the drainages through the Town of Miami. After the severe flooding fall of 2025, the stream channels in the area were heavily aggraded with sediment and debris, much of it from the burn scar of the Telegraph Fire of 2021. Floodwater exceeded channel capacities, damaging property and putting human life and property at risk. Measures undertaken by the Town of Miami to address these risks include sediment and debris removal and construction of a sediment and debris basin to reduce future sediment aggradation within town limits.
