What is a State Technical Committee?

Every state has a Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State Technical Committee. The State Technical Committee provides input to the State Conservationist on technical guidelines necessary to implement the conservation provisions of the Farm Bill.

State Technical Committees serve in an advisory capacity to the NRCS and other USDA agencies on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of Farm Bill legislation. Committees are intended to include members from a wide variety of natural resource and agricultural interests.

Chaired by the NRCS State Conservationist, these committees are composed of representatives from federal and state natural resource agencies, American Indian Tribes, agricultural and environmental organizations, and agricultural producers.

The meeting is open to the public. Learn more about State Technical Committees.
