Project Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with Rich County as the project sponsor and Woodruff Irrigation Company as co-sponsor, is preparing a Watershed Plan Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) in Rich County, Utah to address water resource concerns. The purpose of the project is to improve agricultural water management and conserve agricultural water by reducing water losses in an aging delivery system and reduce maintenance requirements.

NEPA Analysis

NRCS, as the lead federal agency, has initiated a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis in the form of a Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) to analyze impacts to the natural and human environment from this Project.

Current Status

The Project is currently in the Draft Plan-EA review period and interested parties are invited to review and submit comments on the Draft Plan-EA. A public open house will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Woodruff Town Hall (195 South Main Street, Woodruff, UT), to provide Project information, answer questions, and collect comments. Comments on the Draft Plan-EA can be submitted between September 29 and October 27, 2025.
